PRASSINOS Energy has developed an innovative hybrid flywheel energy storage solution to enable the drive towards a sustainable low-carbon future.
PRASSINOS Energy has developed PES, an innovative in energy storage system to enable a sustainable, low-carbon future. A flywheel is considered a mechanical battery that stores kinetic energy in the form of a rotating mass. Designed to work alongside renewable technologies such as wind and solar, the flywheel allows intermittent renewable generation to continue generating, even when the energy is not necessarily required. The excess energy gets stored in PES’ steel flywheels and then released when demand increases. This allows for a further uptake of renewable generation and more homes to be supplied with clean, non-polluting energy.
The flywheel is made out of steel which costs a fraction of the price of carbon fibre alternatives capable of competing with any other energy storage technology as it offers one of the lowest LCOS "Levetized Costs of Storage" across the entire marketplace.
The PES flywheel can respond extremely fast and its maintenance cycle is substantially lower than batteries. Each flywheel is independent of the other and therefore units can be taken offline separately reducing operational downtime to almost zero.
A sustainable environmental friendly Energy Storage Solution with a design that minimizes the environmental impact as there are no chemicals or rare earth metals used in the design.
Build with the modular design approach allowing for unlimited number of units to be aggregated infinitely, offering a more bespoke and cost effective solution for the user.
PES flywheels are designed with safety in mind and can be installed above ground within an aerospace standard containment. The unit can be monitored in real-time and maintenance can be anticipated and scheduled during the most convenient period.
PRASSINOS Energy is bringing you the oldest technology of storing energy into the 21st century and created the 3rd generation flywheel energy storage.
